When I first met Russ and Sarah, they were excited about their wedding. When they booked me a week or so later, they were excited about their wedding, and about the photographs for their wedding. And at the engagement session a few months later, they were still excited. It showed on their faces and in their photos.
For 30 years, Audrey served as the executive assistant to two Sheriffs of Richland County. Finally, in August of 2007, she retired. It was quite a retirement party too. The Legislature of South Carolina drafted a congratulatory resolution, and she was presented with the Key to the City of Columbia among other honors. In the final photo here, she just opened a diamond cross, given to her by the members of the Sheriff's Department.
Like all passions in life, photography is a journey. For me, it is a journey that winds through the lives of others and leaves behind the welcome footprints of photographs.
Perhaps it is vanity, or maybe just hope that in the future, my images will be fondly shared with the children of those I photograph.
